Rahul Bose, the actor, is next going to be seen as a Pakistani general by the name of Zulfikar in the movie adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s book Midnight’s children. Salman said that the movie which is being directed by Deepa Mehta is a great moment in his life.
He had said that there is no greater honour for a writer than to be approached by someone from another art medium who wanted to adapt their book into another form. He said that these were the kind of moments writers lived for.
His book Midnight’s Children had won a Booker Prize in 1981. The screen adaptation of the movie is being released this Friday and has a star studded cast which includes the likes of Anupam Kher, Siddharth, Shriya Saran, Satya Bhabha, Seema Biswas, Soha Ali Khan, Shahana Goswami and Darsheel Safary.
