The decision of the Indian government to charge 12.36 % service tax on TV and film actors has not been received happily by the industry. Akshay Kumar feels that it is going to push out all the independent film producers in the industry.
This is going to leave Bollywood in the hands of the production houses and corporate producers.
The Bollywood star feels that actors in the industry are already paying large amounts in tax and that filmmakers will probably contest this move by the government by going on strike. Akshay has 2 production houses of his own, Grazing Goat pictures and Hari Om Productions and feels that this decision should be withdrawn by the government.
