Abhishek Bachchan was born on 5 February 1976. He is the son of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and erstwhile Bollywood actress Jaya Bachchan. He made his Hindi film debut in the 2000 with Refugee. The movie unfortunately did not fare too well at the box-office but Abhishek’s acting in the film was appreciated.
In 2004 he starred in Dhoom, which went on to become a huge commercial success. In the subsequent years he went on to star in films like Yuva (2004), Sarkar (2005), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and Guru (2007), which were all critically acclaimed and so was his acting in these films.
He also has starred in a number of commercially successful films over years like Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), Guru (2007), Bol Bachchan (2012) and the Dhoom franchise. Throughout his career Abhishek has always been compared to his father.
Whether it be his level of success or his histrionic abilities, people have always commented on how he has never measured up to his father, but what people forget is that there are very few actors even today who can match up to the talent and success Amitabh has seen and is still seeing. Therefore this comparison seems unfair.
If you were to dispassionately look at Abhishek as an actor, you could safely say that he is an above average actor and if you were to look at his box-office success, you could safely say that he has seen a more successful career than many of his contemporaries have seen.
As far as his personal life is concerned, he married Bollywood superstar and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai in April 2007, and the couple in November of 2011 had a baby girl who they named Aradhya. Abhishek and Aishwarya have as a couple, also made an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2009.
